Moeten we minstens één keer in ons leven liefde ervaren en door iemand geliefd worden om ons compleet te voelen?

“Hello Schatje, Adios Amour” is een muziektheaterwerk dat de rol van romantische liefde doorheen de menselijke geschiedenis onderzoekt aan de hand van de reis van een Mexicaanse migrant in Europa, waarbij zijn ervaringen met multiculturele liefde worden uitgediept.

Thema’s als identiteit, cultuur, ras, seksualiteit, privilege en familie worden onderzocht, waarbij obstakels en complexe gesprekken worden overwonnen en uiteindelijk de vraag wordt gesteld: waarom gaan we zo ver voor de liefde? We betreden een podium dat een biechtstoel wordt, een tekst die een intimistisch en persoonlijk kader biedt en muziek die de emotie, energie, sensaties en vele kleuren van romantische liefde oproept. Met een mix van Latijns-Amerikaanse ritmes, elektronische soundscapes en urban hiphop ontstaat een dynamische, gelaagde concertvoorstelling.

Liefde is niet alleen een gevoel, het is een product van onze geschiedenis, tradities en geografie. Maar tegenwoordig? Technologie, politiek en zelfs geloof herschrijven wat het betekent.

Een beeld van het drama, de satire en de komedie van die miljoenen mensen die alle verschillende vormen van liefde hebben ervaren.

Geïnspireerd door persoonlijke verhalen van verschillende mensen uit België, Spanje, Mexico en Brazilië.
