Café
While waiting for a real neighborhood café in our Rif, we are already opening the doors of our foyer as much as possible. As a result, our foyer is now actively used as a coworking space for artists, for the weekly fruit and vegetable distribution by Voedselteam Mortsel, for all kinds of neighborhood meetings, and for an annual neighborhood potluck. Before the performances in our Ruisgewas series, the audience is always welcome for a community meal.

Garden
Under the name GARDEN, we bring together all our plans and dreams on the ecological front. Inspired by the New Institute in Rotterdam, Rif is rethinking its workplace so that not only people, but also other forms of life, are given a voice. This way, Rif will soon become the very first Belgian Zoöp. Together with various partner organizations, including Team Vlaams Bouwmeester, Rooilijn Architectuur, and Hop. Regenerative Architecture, we are also working on a shared dream: the creation of a neighborhood-accessible garden in and around Rif.

Rif cooks
With the RUISGEWAS series, Rif presents the work of its musical theatre residents several times a year! Performances that we cherish, have touched us or are about to kick off. RUISGEWAS performances start at 8pm each time. Beforehand, we always welcome audiences and performers for a folk cuisine in our Rif café from 6pm. Tickets and reservations for the folk cuisine can be made via the agenda or the ticket page.
Every year in February, Rif also organizes a huge potluck buffet together with local residents and all Rif residents. Check our website for the next edition!

Rif Fanfare
Welcome to the Rif Fanfare! This gang emerged in 2023 from the street theatre project ‘This looks a bit like a cactus’ by Rif residents Swarm and Bath by Marie and had a grandiose relaunch during the first Reisbureau Rif summer camp in 2025. The brass band has since grown into a solid band of +- 25 musicians aged 8 to 88 and plays exclusively its own compositions situated somewhere on the imaginary border between Spain, the Balkans and the Wild West. Do you have any sense of rhythm and can walk and play your instrument at the same time? Feel free to drop by one of our rehearsals at Rif to see if our brass band is for you!

Choral
Welcome to the most fun neighbourhood choir! Rif is launching a neighbourhood singing project for all ages and levels. We sing music in all genres and songs from all over the world. The sessions are led by singer Lieselot De Wilde. Everyone is welcome, regardless of level or experience!
The choir sessions are project-based and always work towards a performance.

Master plan
In line with our Zoöp philosophy, Rif, together with quite a few partner organisations, is working on a shared dream. The realisation of a neighbourhood accessible garden on and around our Rif. In this context, a master plan was finalised in the summer of 2025, offering insight into the future possibilities of our site. This master plan is the result of a lengthy substantive and building-technical study and was realised by Rooilijn Architectuur and Hop.regenerative architecture ism Team Vlaams Bouwmeester and with the support of Avansa (neighbourhood participation project), vzw Volle Grond and was made possible in part by an award of a sectoral investment subsidy for cultural infrastructure from the Flemish Community. A reef is not a static entity. It emerges, grows, and develops through the collaboration of countless living organisms. Our Rif ecosystem cannot exist without its surroundings. Just as a coral reef can only exist in relation to the ocean and its inhabitants, Rif aims to be a place where art is never separated from the community.
Do you share this philosophy? Do you live not too far away and would you like to roll up your sleeves once in a while? An evening behind the bar, helping out during a handyman's day, brainstorming about the possibilities of our future roof garden, watering plants, cooking during our people's kitchens...
