Eurudike, Katelijne and Helena De Beul, three singing sisters, are on stage together. Before making Penelope they found inspiration in the life of their grandmother, a silent waiting woman. After losing seven children during the war period, she remained silent for 45 years. And thus passed on her tragedy to subsequent generations. Her fate inspired the sisters to create Penelope, that dark waiting woman from ancient times. In the Odyssey, only a few pages are devoted to her. Here, however, she is the main character. How does she bear, interpret, worship, curse, embrace her ideal, her fate? How quickly does hope turn into despair? How heroic is her wait?
