Stepping Stones - Nick Sturgeon
Nick has a thing for stones. Their silent power fascinates and inspires him. With his acclaimed performance Freeze, he defied every imagination and won the Young Theatre by the Sea award in 2011. During his residency at WALPURGIS, he continues his boyish battle with gravity and goes one step further. From one thing comes another. From action comes reaction. And which is more exciting, the action or the image?
Libretto lecture #7: La Bohème - WALPURGIS
After Cosi fan tutte, Die Fledermaus, Don Giovanni, Falstaff, Turandot and Fidelio, WALPURGIS takes on the libretto of Puccini's opera La Bohème. Singers and actors sharpen their filleting knives and happily poach the music from the text so that its content can resonate in a different way.
Vincent, Irma and Gustaaf - Ingrid Godon
Especially for the FENIKS FESTIVAL, Flemish illustrator Ingrid Godon created three new portraits in the style of her fascinating book Ik Wou.

Wool and Water - Elisabeth de Merode (8+)
French composer Jean-Pierre Drouet made a musical translation of one of the wonderful stories from Alice in Spiegelland (Through the Looking Glass).
Naomi Christiaens created four illustrations for the Alice story that Elisabeth de Merode will guide you through. She too does not shy away from adventure and experimentation. Entirely in the spirit of Lewis Carroll, she makes her flute play, speak, spit and sputter.
Love songs in the living - Vonck and Flame
Gerard Vonck and Gertrude Vlam are a couple in their own right.
Accompanying themselves on the accordion, ukulele, spoons, washboard and kazoo, they sing songs from the 1920s-'30s and take you along the mountains and valleys of love.
Will their love last? Or will Gertrude run off with someone in the audience?
