French writer Lucie Taïeb has long been fascinated by the subject of waste, which she first published about in 2017 with the article L'ordure alphabétique. Eva Reiter, Austrian composer and multi-instrumentalist, recognises in Taïeb's fascination her own interest in 'sonic leftovers' and low-fi, recycled objects and instruments.

Within the framework of Carpet#1 together with four singers from HYOID, they explore how to develop a polyglot libretto for a new chamber opera about our relationship to waste.
